Dr. Gerardo Perez, Independent Chairman, is a lawyer and a partner in the firm of Barrios Fuentes in Lima. His areas of expertise include Administrative Law, Regulation, Infrastructure and Concessions. Previously he was General Manager of the National Port Authority of Peru for six years where he was responsible for the planning, organization, direction, control and management of the institution in charge of Peru`s ports.
Mr. Diego Benavides is a founding executive of Minera IRL and has been working full-time with the Company since its incorporation in 2002. He is a lawyer by training with a graduate degree in corporate leadership and business administration. Mr. Benavides has held positions of Director and General Manager while incorporating several mining subsidiaries into Peru during the 1990’s. Diego Benavides is one of the pioneers in Peruvian social conflict management. As a result he was appointed an Honorary Member of the Community of Ollachea in 2007, an unique privilege.
Mr. Michael Iannacone has been the Chief Financial Officer of Adventus Realty Services Inc, a Canadian Real Estate Investment Trust, since March 2013. Prior to that he was CFO of various companies listed on various exchanges. Mr. Iannacone has extensive experience advising companies in the industrial and resource sectors. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 while working with Coopers & Lybrand (a predecessor firm to PwC) for more than six years.
Mr. Lema is an attorney with over 25 years of experience in corporate law, specialized in international economics, stock market and foreign investment, being actually partner at Thorne, Echeandia & Lema Law firm. He holds an International Economic Law in the Universidad Catolica Peru (1999) with specializations in Corporate Law, Stock Market, and Foreign investment.
Mr.Valverde is a metallurgical engineer with over 30 years of experience in mining. Mr. Valverde has a PhD in Environmental and Sustainable Development, is the ex-President of the Peruvian Engineer College of Metallurgists, and is a frequent speaker on the topic of monitoring and environmental risks. He is also PHD head professor at the National Engineering University of Peru on tailings management and technology.
